November 22, 2008 -- Lake Gaston Holiday Boat Parade ... starting with Chili Cookoff and Vendor Fair

The Lake Gaston Holiday Boat Parade that started in 2002 by Al Hartley and friends has certainly taken root and evolved! Starting at noon (until 4pm) at South Shore Realty (south end of Eaton's Ferry Bridge), chili cookers vie for top awards.  $5.00 buys unlimited chili tasting and a voting ticket for your favorite.  Also - enjoy vendors, live music, children's attractions and more set up on the ground of South Shore Realty.  The seventh Boat Parade to follow from Dockside starting at 6:00 pm (north end of Eaton's Ferry Bridge). Parade spectator are welcomed to stake out their best viewing location on the bridge and in the bridge vicinity FREE OF CHARGE! Please come out, have some fun, and support the community.

November 15, 2008 10am - 2pm -- Lakeview Log Home Tour

Hosted by Lakeview Log Homes, the public is invited to this special opportunity to visit some of the beautiful log homes on Lake Gaston built by Scott McCullough Builder, Inc. Artist studios and hosting homes will be open for tours, demonstrations and purchases. Multiple artists will be clustered at various homes. Displays and sales of paintings, photography, fine woodwork, pottery, jewelry and more. Refreshments will be served all day at each site and all ticket holders will receive complimentary gifts at each site.

October 1, 2008 -- Four Seasons Suspends Duffy Dealership

Al and Anne Hartley, owners of Four Seasons Electric Boat Company on Lake Gaston have announced that as of October 1, 2008 they have elected to suspend their Duffy dealership. However they remain enthusiastic about electric boating and Duffy boats and plan to continue to maintain the website to promote electric boating in general with the spotlight on selected manufacturers.

Four Seasons may choose to resume a dealership operation in the future and will be happy to help you find your closest Duffy dealer or obtain Customer Service.


December 3 , 2007 -- Four Seasons Closes Dockside Location

December 3, 2007 – Al and Anne Hartley, owners of Four Seasons Electric Boat Company have announced the closing of their Dockside showroom as they complete the 5 th year of their Lake Gaston business venture. However, this change in business venue does not impact their Duffy electric boat dealership or enthusiasm for electric boating that the Hartley's share with other Duffy owners on Lake Gaston and worldwide. Four Seasons will continue to offer Duffy electric boats through their online showroom and by appointment. Demo cruises are easy to arrange and continue to leave from Dockside Landing. Custom boat orders are typically delivered in 4 – 6 weeks. August 12, 2006 -- The Crossing and ArtPlunge Return

Dockside Landing is the place to be! Fine art and jewelry at ART PLUNGE, lots of water toys at Four Season Electric Boats along with their original Lake Gaston signature collection, or a relaxing demo cruise on Duffy electric boats. And in the morning join the excitement of the second annual O'SAIL Crossing.

The art exhibit and sale is being held in conjunction with The Crossing event. O'SAIL, an organization to support the arts, infrastructure, and learning sponsored this exciting event to benefit the Water Safety Council and the Lake Gaston unit of the U. S. Coast Guard Auxiliary.

The participating artists, as well as O'SAIL, wish to bring more awareness of the arts and learning to Lake Gaston and the surrounding area. The public is invited at attend both events on August 12! The O'SAIL Crossing starts at 9 am at Eaton's Ferry Marina - ending at Dockside - and Art Plunge is a day long event: 10am to 4pm on the Dockside property.

August 13 , 2005 -- ArtPlunge / The Crossing

Four Seasons' annual Art Exhibit and Sale returns this year but in a differnt venue from previoue years. Instead of multiple Sunday afternoons in August featuring a single artist, this year will be a full-day event on Saturday, August 13 - starting at 10am. The artists will be set up on the ridge at Dockside Landing. Participating are:

This year's Art event ("ArtPlunge") takes place the same day as The Crossing, organized by O'SAIL- (Organization to Support the Arts, Infrastructure, and Learning on Lake Gaston) - a fund-raising group with specific focus on the lake area. This inaugural event invites registered participants - swimmers or non-motorized watercraft only- to cross Lake Gaston in a protected area adjacent to Eaton Ferry Bridge, leaving from Eatons Ferry Marina and finishing at Dockside Landing (under the watchful eye of the US Coast Guard Auxilliary). A registration fee of $20 will entitle each participants to a complimentary soft drink and hot dog (courtesy of Dockside Dairy), along with a commemorative event T-shirt bearing the O'SAIL logo.

Proceeds from The Crossing will go to benefit the US Coast Guard Auxilliary
(new communication equipment) and the Lake Gaston Water Safety Council (awareness panel for their educational trailer).

April 16 - 17, 2005 -- Season Kickoff on Lake Gaston

Dockside Landing on the north end of Eaton's Ferry Bridge was the place to be April 16 -17! This was the first annual Season Kickoff for Lake Gaston hosted by Dockside Landing.(Click HERE for a recap of the 2-day event.)

The event began with Al Hartley presenting the new Warren County Sheriff's boat to Johnny William, Warren County Sheriff.. For two years, the men have worked on this project along with citizens, businesses, N.C. Fish and Wildlife, County Management and county commissioners to provide law enforcement on the waters of Lake Gaston. March 2005 - Four Seasons Introduces Sugar Sand Jet Boats

As part of its 2005 expansion, Four Seasons Boats is pleased to bring market leader Sugar Sand Jet Boats to Lake Gaston and vicinity. Four Seasons Electric Boats and Poplar Creek Marina at Dockside are pleased to announce that each Sunday during the month of August from noon - 3pm it is hosting an Open House and Local Art Expo at its Dockside location on the north shore of Eaton's Ferry Bridge - to benefit LakeLand Cultural Arts Center. Each Sunday features a different artist:

The public is invited to stop in, browse, meet the artist, enjoy light refreshments - and help a local cause. 10% of the artists' proceeds will be donated to the lighting fund for LakeLand Cultural Arts Center in Littleton.

If you can't make it on Sunday, the artists' display will remain up the week following. Feel free to drop by at your convenience.

In addition to the artists' proceeds, Four Seasons is selling $5 raffle tickets for a 2-Hour Wine and Cheese Cruise for 6 on Lake Gaston (valued at $250). The drawing will take place at the conclusion of the Art Expo event on Aug 29. Ticket proceeds will be donated to Lakeland.

Saturday, Dec 13, 2003 from 11am to 4pm at Pinehurst Resort

Four Seasons and Seven Lakes Marine with the manufacturer - Duffy Electric Boats - and Pinehurst Resort (www.pinehurst.com) hosted a Duffy Demo Day from Pinehurst Marina on Saturday, December 13. There were (3) Duffy boats (Duffy Cruiser 21, Duffy 18 Classic, and Duffy Cat 16) in the water for demo rides and test drives. We were also joined by Duffy representatives from California, Kevin Kearns and Karl Tahti.

Pinehurst residents and guests from nearby lakes enjoyed hot cider and cozy, warm rides on a cold day in December! While Four Seasons' base of operation is Lake Gaston NC/VA, its Duffy Dealership serves an extended region in both North Carolina and Virgina which includes Pinehurst and Seven Lakes. Duffy electric boats are perfect for residential waterfronts such as Pinehurst Lake, Carolina Trace, and Lake Auman - especially all-electric or environmentally conscious waterways.

Mark your calendars NOW for the December 6 event (weather date - rain or wind - Dec 7). Parade lineup starts at 5:30 pm at the Dockside waterfront. Join the fun and enter your boat!

October 3 – 5, 2003 EB Gathering at St Michaels, MD

Four Seasons Electric Boats had a great time participating in the third annual Electric Boat Gathering that was held in St Michaels, MD the weekend of October 3 – 5. The event began on Friday with the Wye Island Challenge, a 23.82 mile electric boat race around Wye Island, and overlapped on Saturday and Sunday with the Mid Atlantic Small Craft Festival that was hosted by the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum. The winning time for the Displacement Hull Division was posted by Al Hartley of Four Seasons in his 21’ Duffy Cruiser with an average speed of 6.44 mph shown in this photo “sprinting” to the finish line. After the race the participants gathered at the Miles River Yacht Club for dinner and the awards ceremony. On Saturday, the electric boats moved over to the museum grounds and offered free rides to the public. The St Michaels harbor was the perfect setting. This was a lot of fun and already on our calendar for next year! Many thanks to Tom Hesselink of Budsin Wood Craft for an outstanding job of organizing the event and making it a reality.

Visit Four Seasons and Duffy boats at Lake Wheeler (www.raleigh-nc.org/parks&rec/wheeler/) Dock #1 - just south of Raleigh, NC. We plan to have two (2) Duffy boats (Duffy Cruiser 21 and Duffy Cat 16) in the water for demo rides and test drives. We have boats in inventory that can be delivered to your Triangle or nearby waterfront in 24 hours! Remember these are four seasons boats so the electric “boating season” does not end at Labor Day. The smaller Duffy boats (16 - 18 ft) are perfect for residential waterfronts such as Lochmere in Cary, Pinehurst Lake, Carolina Trace, Lake Auman.
